About Chabad of Greenpoint

A Jewish community center rooted in love, learning, and the timeless wisdom of Torah.

Our Story

Chabad of Greenpoint is a warm, welcoming Jewish community center serving the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. We are part of the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement, dedicated to Jewish education, outreach, and community building based on the timeless teachings of the Torah.

We believe that every Jewish soul is precious and that every person — regardless of background, affiliation, or level of observance — deserves to feel the warmth and wisdom of Jewish tradition. Our doors are always open, our table always set.

Located in the heart of Greenpoint at 48 India Street, Brooklyn, NY, we serve the diverse Jewish community of North Brooklyn and welcome anyone seeking connection, meaning, and a sense of Jewish identity and belonging.

Our programs range from weekly Shabbat dinners and holiday celebrations to children's Hebrew education, adult Torah study, Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation, and lifecycle event support. We are here for every milestone and every ordinary Tuesday.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide everything we do at Chabad of Greenpoint.

Ahavat Yisrael — Love of Every Jew

We embrace every Jewish person with unconditional love, recognizing the spark of G-d in every soul. No one is judged, no one is excluded, and every person is met where they are.

Torah-Centered Education

We believe that Jewish learning is a lifelong journey. Our classes, programs, and resources make Torah accessible, relevant, and inspiring for people at every stage of life.

Community & Belonging

We create spaces where friendships are formed, families are supported, and every person feels seen and valued. Community is not a backdrop — it is the mission itself.
